About the NATO phonetic alphabet
The NATO phonetic alphabet (officially the International Radiotelephony Spelling Alphabet) assigns a standard word to each letter of the Latin alphabet. It was adopted by ICAO and NATO to make voice communication over radio clearer, avoiding confusion between similar-sounding letters like B and D.
The 26 code words are: Alfa, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, Hotel, India, Juliett, Kilo, Lima, Mike, November, Oscar, Papa, Quebec, Romeo, Sierra, Tango, Uniform, Victor, Whiskey, X-ray, Yankee, Zulu.
